Bury
The sigil stays hidden. To see it again, you unearth it from the Journal and confirm.
Sigils with a journal
Sigyl takes you from a sentence to a sigil, in seven steps, and keeps the journal of what you did for it. No account. Everything stays on your device.
Works in the browser and can be installed as an app.
The letters of the wish
Kept
S L P W
What you type here never leaves this page.
The ritual is short and has an order. You can leave at any point: the draft is kept.
Wish
A short, concrete sentence. The app warns you, without blocking, when a “not” shows up.
Actions
Up to three actions, with a date or a repeat: every day, certain weekdays, or a few times a week.
Letters
Let tradition strike the vowels and repeats, let chance choose, or strike them yourself.
Sigil
Draw it in the app, with a broad-nib pen, or photograph a sigil made on paper. It needn’t be pretty or legible.
Gnosis
Silence, with a meditation time you turn like a dial, or exaltation: music, dance, exhaustion.
Fate
Burying hides the sigil, and you can unearth it from the Journal. Burning erases everything, for good.
Check-in
On the day you chose, the app reminds you of your actions, one by one, and asks whether you did them. With no actions, it is just a nudge to look back. The reminder never mentions the wish.
In silent gnosis, a guided breath follows the time you chose. No counting: just the word and the rhythm.
Tradition says to forget the sigil once it is charged. That is why Sigyl hides what you wrote: the wish, the letters and the drawing only show during the ritual and when you decide to unearth them.
The sigil stays hidden. To see it again, you unearth it from the Journal and confirm.
The drawing, the letters and the wish are erased from the app. There is no undoing it.
Your actions, check-ins and notes live together, in three screens: Actions, Today and Journal.
On the day you set, Today reminds you of your actions and asks whether you did them. One tap answers, and the answer becomes a note linked to the ritual.
With a date or repeating, in the order you drag them. Done ones move to the end of the list.
Write in markdown and link a note to a ritual with [[ ]]. It shows up in the ritual and in the Journal.
Search your notes. Wishes never show up in search.

A sigil is a wish condensed into a drawing. You write a sentence, reduce it to a few letters, join them into a drawing, charge it with a quiet mind and then forget it.
Sigyl does not promise results. It is a traditional practice that comes from Austin Osman Spare and was taken up by chaos magic authors such as Peter Carroll. Every step in the app has a “Why?” with its sources, and says what is the practitioners’ convention.
Not to use it. The app treats the sigil as a practice with an origin and a method, and makes clear what is tradition. The clear wish and the actions you choose are recorded in your journal.
No. Everything is kept on your device. The app has no account and does not send what you write.
In Settings you download a backup, with a password if you like, and restore it on another device. Without a backup, what lives only on the device is lost with it.
Yes, after you open the app once with a connection.
Seven steps and a few minutes. The rest is up to you.
